How our end-to-end quality assurance gives you lasting confidence

At Forté, we’re more than a timber brand – we’re the manufacturer. That means we control the entire process, from selecting European oak to milling, finishing, compliance, and aftercare. With no middlemen, we take full responsibility for quality and performance, so you get a final product that’s beautiful, durable, and backed by expert support from day one through the lifetime of your floor.
Here’s how we ensure every floor meets the highest standards.
Tested for Everyday Living
Spill resistance tested to ensure real-world durability
Accidents happen – spilled drinks, thirsty pets and wet shoes are a part of everyday living. That’s why we independently test our coatings for extended water exposure, simulating real-world conditions such as a spill left overnight.
- We assess how long moisture remains on the surface without penetrating or damaging the coating.
- Products must demonstrate high resistance to staining and swelling before passing our QA process.
What this means for you: Confidence that your floor is built for busy households and modern day-to-day living.
CodeMark Certified System
Compliance assurance for the entire flooring system
Forté is the only timber flooring company in New Zealand with CodeMark certification for its complete flooring system. This includes the product itself, plus adhesives and installation method, ensuring the system performs as one.
- Meets NZ Building Code requirements for moisture (E3), fire, and emissions.
- Must be accepted by Building Consent Authorities – removing risk and saving time on site.
What this means for you: Faster consent, smoother builds, and confidence that the full system is fit for purpose.
Factory-Controlled Quality Assurance
Consistency you can see, backed by rigorous checks
We take quality seriously – because we’re the ones making the product. Every production batch goes through a comprehensive 50-point quality inspection before it leaves our factory.
- If any product falls short, it’s reworked, not shipped.
- Each batch is digitally logged and traceable, ensuring long-term accountability and consistency across repeat orders.
What this means for you: Peace of mind that what arrives on site will match your samples and deliver the look and quality you specified.
Ongoing Support for the Life of Your Floor
A dedicated aftercare team, here to help when you need it
We don’t disappear once your floor is installed. Our in-house aftercare team is here to support you for the long haul, whether you're a homeowner, installer, or architect.
- Advice on the right cleaning products and maintenance routines.
- Recommendations for wax repair kits or minor touch-ups.
- Tips and guidance to ensure your floor looks its best for years to come.
What this means for you: One place to go for any questions – expert advice, fast answers, and a partner who cares about your floor’s performance over its full lifetime.
